Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy at the University

				1991 Master Trainer/Presenter for ChiBall
				Pilates

Kathy is an Australian trained physiotherapist, having
completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy at
the University of South Australia, in 1991. After working in her
native Adelaide for several years she traveled and worked in
Britain and Europe, eventually settling in Calgary in 1995.

Kathy has been involved in sports from a young age, and is an
elite squash, tennis and field hockey player, having competed on
Australian State and Canadian Provincial teams. Kathy was most
recently a member of the Canadian National Womens Padel Tennis
Team competing at the World Championships in Dec, 2010.
Involvement in sport provides Kathy with an expert perspective
on sports injuries and their prevention.

Kathy has recently focused her attention on Clinical Pilates, a
highly specific exercise regime designed to promote dynamic
stabilization. Clinical Pilates has been found to be very
successful for rehabilitation of spinal injuries related to
motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries, and for chronic
back and neck conditions. She completed her “Rehabilitation
Series” Pilates training with Polestar Education in June of
2000. (Polestar Education Pilates is taught by physiotherapists
and is a modified type of Pilates designed for more specific
				rehabilitation).

Whilst working in Australia in 2000, Kathy gained invaluable
experience treating patients with chronic back and neck pain
using Pilates equipment at a premiere Physiotherapy and Pilates
clinic. It was while working at this clinic that Kathy was first
introduced to the ChiBall, and its use in conjunction with
physiotherapy. She found it was an invaluable tool to teach
clients postural awareness, to facilitate movement patterns, and
to release stress and tension from the spine. Kathy first
introduced this new and unique therapy to Calgary in September
				of 2001.

Kathy's plans for the future are to continue teaching workshops
to health professionals, so that the ChiBall Method will
eventually be more widely used in Canada and the USA.
